Experience and reflect on the stories being told.
I have always been a lover of writing and reading since I was able to pick up a book and pencil. I would choose a book before candy or toys. I would fill a ton of journals with my poems or short stories, and even though some of the journals are lost, I find myself remembering the words of my poems from long ago. However, life happened, and writing and reading got away from me for awhile, and then about eight years ago I suffered a miscarriage. I was three months along, and I had the name picked out, heard the heartbeat a few times, and all was great until sadly it wasn't anymore. The name of the baby was going to be Zen whether it was a boy or a girl. It was that name that stuck with me, and instead of being depressed I chose to pick up my pen and decided to give the name life as I intended to do. I started writing my first book and naming my heroine Zen. I wrote for days on end and sacrificed sleep and finally, I am in the final stages of completion. A year into this project I discovered I was pregnant again and this was to be the last time that I would try. I ended up giving birth to a healthy baby boy and his name, if you haven't guessed it, is Zen.
In my son's honor, I have created the Writing in Zen Project. The Writing In Zen website will serve as a place for you to get to know me and my art of writing and using the power of words to hopefully change your perspective on the thoughts on the matter of love. Love can change things and so can words. Words are the most powerful tools that we have to use. They are a gift. Words have the power to evoke emotion in us, the ability to start wars, to shift political views, and to create change. I am going to share with you the love stories that I have had the pleasure of reading or hearing over some time so you can see and experience that love exists in all shapes and forms. Just like words, love is a gift. It is there for us to feel and to share and to make a believer of those that think that love doesn't exist. I am here to tell you, that it does. I hope in reading my work and the thoughts of others; it will change your perspective. Love exists all around us if you open yourself to it and choose to see it.
